There is something about NY that is so welcoming.  From the second you step off the plane there are people everywhere, a million places to go, and good times are promised.  I spent 4th of July surrounded by the "Skylines & Citylight" [everyone must listen to the Nikki & Rich song featuring Fab] haha.  Actually I suggest that you press play to this video, and enjoy the photos below.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I know I promised my NYC blog .. but I forgot all about WILW !!
Recently, I had been getting annoyed that my makeup doesn’t last all day .. every makeup artist I know said to me “It’s what you put on before your makeup that matters!” So I purchased two MAC products – IN LOVE with MAC Products! Prep + Prime for all over .. & Paint Pot for my eyes. Both = to die for!
I am patiently waiting for my Lipsy dress to arrive.  I saw Adrienne Bailon wearing it, and I debated purchasing online, but I couldn’t resist.  It should be here no later than next Tuesday! I know I won't be able to rock it as good as Adrienne but I'm still loving this dress!
The last WILW I did, I mentioned my gold shorts from the Bebe Addiction line .. well I wore them my first night in NYC .. still loving them
Not too much else I am loving at the moment .. So this will be a very short & sweet WILW!

PUBLIC SEVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

PSA: House of Harlow is amazing!!

'scuse me but how didn’t someone introduce me to Nicole Richie’s line sooner?  I had heard of it before, but never really checked it out. Well let me just tell you – Nicole knows what’s up.  It's very 60's and 70's inspired, which usually isn't me at all, but I just fell in love!
So of course, I had to purchase something! I ended up with this amazing piece.  Only $68, so cute, affordable & perfect for my Fourth of July weekend in NYC.

Adorable, right? I KNOW!!! It’s the House of Harlow 1960 14KT Gold-plated Sunburst Pendant Necklace with Khaki Leather.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

My very first “Link Up” .. let's see how this goes!
First & foremost .. I’m loving that tonight is Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Bruins are in it, and I'm from Boston.  I admit, I totally jumped on the bandwagon .. but still.. loving Timmy and the boys.

I'm loving that Michela and I are debating between a Fourth of July vacation to NYC or Miami .. either way  I will be wearing these shorts I purchased at Bebe .. LOVE.

I'm loving my current nail color Essie’s Mint Candy Apple...  No, it won't match my Bruins attire for this evening, but I'm good.

I'm loving these Dolce Vita Irene Sandals I saw today.  I decided not to purchase and pray when I go back tmrw that they still have my size!!!

Should be no surprise, I'm loving J.Cole's new song "Work Out For Me"

I know I dedicated one of my first blogs to J.Cole, but you all should know something about me - I am loving each and every day .. Jay-Z.  And yes, this is one of my favorite pictures of him...no rapper-like picture, just extreme casual business man, Shawn Carter... and just a lil FYI for you... J.Cole is signed by RocNation which is run by Jay-Z. Talent knows talent.

What are you loving this Wednesday?

Cole World.

Roughly three years ago, I came across an amazing song “Lights Please.”  The artist spoke about his relations with a girl and how the opposite sex has the ability to make all the problems in the world vanish for the time being.  Lights please lights please, Turn off the lights, For now everything just seems so right, And how you make darkness seem so bright, Feelin' like things gon' be alright, Lights please.” With that hook, I was instantly hooked.  I’m all about the lyrics, no matter what genre.  From Jay-Z to Adele, Run DMC to Whitney Houston if the lyrics hit close to home, I’m sold.  With the help of my friend, who we will call The Music Guru, I spent the next week listening to The Come Up and The Warm Up, two mixtapes by an artist who started as The Therapist who now called himself, J.Cole.
A total of 3 mixtapes later, features all over the radio & internet, and now awaiting a “classic album” to drop, if you say I’m a fan, it’d be an understatement.  If you said I was ‘obsessed’, I would tell you it gives you the wrong visual since I'm a female ha.  I think the proper wording would be “I’M ALL ABOUT HIM.”  I did my research on him, personally and artistically, and was impressed.  Yes, he is tall and attractive, but his lyrics spill passion and verbalize his dreams.  I force my friends to find love for him, and I even got my mother to listen to him… telling her he attended St. John's University in New York on an academic scholarship, to get closer to Jay-Z and the music industry, and graduated magna cum laude, something I wasn’t even able to do.   He is beyond talented and skilled in his craft.  The littlest things he chooses to do  make me say “wow!”  From his choice of vocabulary to the fact that I’ve never heard him use the word “yo” in any track he has ever been on and for some reason; I hope that he never does.
I truly believe he will be the Jay-Z of my generation.  I say that with everything that goes along with that title.  He is not “that dude” who sings "Who Dat" or “In the Morning” which features Drake.  I actually get upset when people base their opinion of him off those two songs, not because I don’t think they are great – they are, but because he has such deeper, more meaningful songs like Enchanted, Rags to Riches, Song for the Ville, Problems, and The Badness.  If you are taking the time to read this blog, you should take the time to YouTube those songs, or Google the lyrics. It will be worth your time.

“Success is all relative to you and your expectation for yourself.  So I know I am blessed and successful so far but I know in the grand scheme of where I want to be I’m not successful yet technically.  So I think success is really what you envision for yourself.  I got way bigger goals so I can’t say I am successful with those yet, personally.” –J.Cole

HELLO WORLD.

From as far back as I can remember I have wanted to start a blog.  I've always had this undying love for writing, reading, and editting.  One of my closest friends, Sarah, recently told me she started one and I needed to get it together.  I have no idea where this is going... I haven't even been able to figure out a "name" or "theme" for my blog.  I have a million ideas running through my mind, so that will come in time.  This is a new beginning and I have come to learn that new beginning are always FUN. It will be exciting for everyone involved, especially for the amazing & inspirational people I am blessed to have in my life. They will all be in the content at some point & you all will be able to see how friggin' amazing they are too!
